Trailering services between the UK & Belguim, Luxembourg, Northern France, Holland & Germany
With the loadable length at the full 13.6 Meters and at a huge 2.5 meters wide the modern flat trailer is as versatile as ever - just bigger. The standard Flat Trailer is also sometimes known as a semi trailer or flatbed trailer. The headboard of the trailer is of super strong construction not only for driver safety but also for load security. The modern HGV flat trailer is equipped with 8 winch straps to ensure your load is kept secure between loading point and delivery. Air ride suspension and anti lock brakes also come as standard reducing wear and tear on both roads and equipment.
When sent to load building products and board from Belgium or Holland drivers are equipped with that something extra, simple but very effective, a brand new full length sheet of cover plastic – which is the first thing to cover your load for that extra protection. Then, on top of this first layer of protection, the first main sheet is placed across the rear of the trailer and load, covering well over half the load, the second main sheet is then placed across the front of the load – overlapping the other main sheet already across the rear of the load, these first layers are then topped off with whats known as a ‘fly sheet’ – a single sheet that covers the length of the standard trailer and overlaps about a metre down the load. Combine this recognised standard way of sheeting with strapping and roping and your load will arrive safe secure and as watertight and as clean as possible.
